Best Golf Putting Aids: Highest Rated Putting Training Aids
Your putting ability will make a big difference to your overall golf score and handicap. Putting makes up almost 50% of your total shots, so it is natural that you would want to improve your putting. There are dozens of Golf Putting Aids available, including putting alignment aids, putting training aids, and home putting greens.
The best golf putters are the ones that you feel more comfortable and confident with. Unlike the driver, irons, and hybrids, there are not really any putters that are designed for the high handicap golfer. Putting is all about feel and touch, so it will be up to the individual whether they feel more comfortable with a mallet putter or a blade putter, a long putter or a standard length putter.
Luckily, putting is one of the easiest areas of the game to practice and to improve quickly. Also, there are some excellent golf putting aids to help your putting stroke. Below you will find some of the best golf putting aids; ones that have received good reviews from golfers or from PGA Tour professionals.
The Best Golf Putting Aids: The Most Popular and Highest Rated Golf Putting Aids
Z Factor Perfect Putting Machine The Z Factor Perfect Putting Machine has been ordered by PGA Tour members, PGA teaching professionals, golf schools and individual golfers of all skill levels. This is because all of these people know what an amazing revolution this product is with regard to teaching, learning and practicing the art of putting. The Z Factor Perfect Putting Machine actually allows you to see and feel the perfect putting stroke, which builds true muscle memory. The machine is adaptable to teach both the SQUARE TO SQUARE and ARC putting techniques.
Square to Square (STS) – With the Z Factor Perfect Putting Machine set up in the STS mode you will be learning the muscle memory of a SQUARE TO SQUARE putting stroke. In this stroke the putter travels straight back and straight through on the target line. The face of the putter is always pointed at the target during this stroke. This style of putting is used by golfers of all skill levels including PGA tour players, but may be especially helpful for beginners and for practicing short putts.
Inside-Square-Inside (ARC) – With the Z Factor Perfect Putting Machine set up in the ARC mode you will be learning the muscle memory of an Inside-Square-Inside putting stroke. In other words, the putter travels INSIDE the target line on the backstroke, returns to SQUARE at impact, and travels back INSIDE the target line on the follow through. This stroke is thought by some instructors to be more natural and resembles a miniature golf swing. During this stroke the face of the putter opens relative to the target line, but remains square to the arc along which it is swinging. Most of the players on the PGA tour use some variety of this method.
Features of the Z Factor Perfect Putting Machine
Stance Alignment and Consistency – The Z Factor’s parallel design aids in setting the feet and shoulders up square to the target line. A numbered stance indicator system allows the user to replicate their stance width and position on every stroke.
Ball Position – A ball position indicator allows the user to place the ball in the exact same location on each putt. Having consistent ball position is an important aspect of a repeating stroke.
Ball Feed Ramp – The Z Factor Perfect Putting Machine comes equipped with a ball feed ramp that conveniently delivers golf balls to the user during practice. An optional ball hopper tube can also feed golf balls to the user and disconnects to be used to pick up golf balls from the putting surface or while chipping.
Optional Z Factor Accessories
Alignment Laser – This is a great add-on if you will be using your Z Factor indoors. The laser rests on the back of the Z Factor and in dim conditions actually illuminates the entire target line. It will not work in most outdoor conditions.
Ball Hopper/Shag Tube – This is a genuine Practice Stick brand shag tube that comes with adaptors that allow it to attach to the Z Factor. This option allows the user to putt over 20 golf balls before having to reload. The tube then disconnects from the Z Factor and can be used to pick up golf balls from the putting green without having to bend over.

“The Perfect Putting Machine is by far the best golf putting aids I have ever seen. From the first time you use it you’ll have immediate improvements on your putting stroke because it makes you feel how your putter should move during the stroke to hit the ball properly. “My girlfriend purchased this training aid for me for my b-day. All I can say is, this is the best training aid you can buy for the money. I cut my putting stroke by about 5-6 strokes per round. Say goodbye to the miss putt within 9 feet. I got the 9′ training aid since I do not have room for the 13′. I am pretty much sinking all my putts inside of 10 feet. One pointer I would give is, before you hit the course, practice a couple of putt on the practice green before you start playing. This way you know the speed of the greens on that day.” by Risit Ratanadiloknaphuket from Anahime, CA US.
“I decided that I would purchase the Tour Links putting training aid so I could practice putting anytime I wanted (rain or shine, hot or cold). The package arrived and the putting surface was a snap to put together. I especially liked the line string guide that helped me line up the putts. Also, the stroke groover was great for making sure I had enough follow-through so my putter wouldn’t stop short.” by Chuck Davis from Yantis, TX US
Path Finder by Henri Reis The Path Finder is based on the same basic principals which have made the Putting Guide so well received; this golf training device adapts to the individual, it’s easy to use and it provides rapid results.
Path Finder is a training aid that helps you find a better putting stroke, better ball impact and better alignment. Underneath the device there are magnets that keep the six pins in place. These pins can be individually adjusted to the golfer’s skills and what kind of putter is being used. The putter is to be brought between the pins. If the golfer hits one of the pins it makes a clear sound and the pin bends, then immediately rises again. The more the golfer improves, the tighter he can set the pins so that the space between the putter and the pins decreases.
Path Finder can be attached to a green with a tee and then adjusted towards a hole. The ball is placed in the middle of the Path Finder and can then be putted in the hole. The mirror on the Path Finder allows the golfer to control the alignment. The eyes should be over the line that the golfer is aiming at.
Included with the Path Finder is an instructional DVD, which not only explains how the Path Finder itself should be used, but also contains sections with length training exercises, aiming and green reading. A book which in detail reveals the factors that affect putting is also included.

The Putting Game The Putting Game is an actual game and training aid all in one. The Putting Game comes standard with many games and playing modes. This device has 5 games included. The Putting Game enables you to hit a real ball with a real putter and gives you real feedback.
Games 1 and 2 = 500. The first game/training modes focuses on accuracy. The player is presented with a LED lit target 3/8″ wide. When the target is hit, the player receives a score of 100. Scoring goes down the farther the player hits the ball from the desired target. The player will receive 5 putts and a score for each one giving them an exact feedback of how accurate they are able to stroke a putt.
Games 3 & 4 = Knock Out. In the second series of game/training modes, the player is presented a LED lit target the exact width of a cup 4 inch wide. The objective of this game is to knock out all the lit LED lights/target in the fewest amount of putts possible. Many pros like to practice left center, right center and dead center of the cup putts. Each time the ball hits the bounce bar the LED lights are knocked out/turned off the exact width of the ball. The best possible score in this game is 3. With this game/training mode, the player can focus on managing which side of the cup they need to hit.
The other game/training modes are; Games 5 & 6 = Diminishing Cup, Games 7 & 8 = Virtual Practice Green, and Games 9 & 10 = Virtual Cup 500.
Benefits of The Putting Game

- Sharpens Directional Accuracy

Targaline Putting System Here are the reasons you miss putts: 95% of all golfers do not have their eyes above the ball, in any consistent manner; For most golfers, the putter face does not stay square throughout the stroke; Many golfers do not center the sweet spot of their putter correctly behind the ball; Golfers commonly stand too far away from their ball which causes inconsistent putting strokes.
Features of The Targaline Putting Aid
Smaller Practice Hole – The hole-unit on the Targaline Putting Aid comes with a 2.5″ hole. The reason for this is simple, but very effective! You practice making perfect putts into the center of the hole. Putting to the center of the hole gives you confidence that you will putt on line, every time!
Mirror Aided Alignment – The combination of the mirror and string provide instant feedback on your set up over the ball. By glancing back into the mirror to see the string and its reflection as one line on top of each other. This will ensure that your eye alignment is perfectly above the ball and the putting line, every time!
Acceleration Marks – Place 1 ball on each of the 4 acceleration marks. By not touching the next ball to the rear when you make a putting stroke, Targaline will teach you to accelerate through your putts.
Putting Guidelines – The putting guidelines help you square your putter and develop a consistent on-line pendulum putting stroke. At this point, all of the putting fundamentals come together in harmony, to create that consistent winning putting stroke from take-away into the follow through.
Ball Return – A built-in, gravity controlled, ball return ensures that you can make putt after putt and the Targaline will send you back the ball.
Customer Reviews
“The Targaline Putting System is very easy to set up and use. After practicing with it right before I played, I putted excellently. It can improve alignment, ball position and stroke, and the smaller up-hill hole makes an actual hole on the course look much larger. It helped me to correct my alignment in about 5 minutes. I highly recommend the Targaline Putting System.” by James France from London, England GB.
“I’ve had good success with the system. I practice daily on my 3-5 foot putts and so far I’m making 95% of my putts from that distance. It has help me to stay on line and square to the hole. The small cup makes the real thing look like a basketball hoop.” by William Gibbs from St. Simons Island, GA US
A Few Practice Putting Tips
Below are a few putting tips so that you make the most out of your time on your practice putting greens. The first tip is to check out the new Purepoint Golf Precision Putting DVD.
Watching a Purepoint Golf DVD to learn how to putt is a far better way to learn than just reading some putting tips.
Tip 1 – To begin with, putt from no more than six feet out, preferably from four feet. If you watch the pros in competition you will realize that even they miss half of their 6 footers. If you’re practicing 20-footers you will be missing a lot more than you are holing which will hurt your confidence.
Tip 2 – When you are practicing putting, you want to practice making putts and not missing them. Therefore start out be practicing on a flat green and from a short distance. Once you have dominated these flat and short putts you can move on to longer putts and putts with slopes.
Tip 3 – The best way to perfect your putting stroke is to putt as normal but with your eyes closed. As unlikely as this sounds, this is a great method to improve your stroke. When you make the stroke with your eyes closed and then watch the ball roll after you have completed the stroke, you will see the ball roll perfectly straight. The reason for this is because you will stroke through the ball and not at the ball – try it and you will see.
Tip 4 – Finally, you should always end your putting practice session by making short putts. The reason for this is if you try and finish with a long putt, you will no doubt miss it and you do not want to walk away from putting practice on a miss. Instead, make several putts in a row from a short distance; your confidence will be high when you hear the satisfying sound of your ball dropping into the cup.
